The WVU Office for Public Health Practice and the Department of Community Medicine are hosting the Public Health Grand Rounds on Wednesday, November 4 from noon – 1 p.m. at the HSC Learning Center room 1905. The speaker will be Dr. Dwight Harshbarger, Adjunct Professor, Department of Community Medicine, WVU and Senior Fellow, Cambridge Center for Behavioral Studies. His presentation, “The Hawks Nest Tunnel Disaster – History and Legacy” will give attendees an understanding of the development of the tunnel, how it came to be America’s worst industrial disaster, the impact of Hawks Nest tunnel on workplace safety and more. This program is designed for public health faculty, staff, students, physicians, nurses, dentists, other healthcare professionals, and anyone interested in the ongoing research in the field of public health.
